The lagoon has become the best place on the island to learn kitesurfing: flat, shallow, and the trade wind arrives every afternoon. We built a rack under the carbet beside the outdoor shower: two kites, three boards and room to leave everything drying outside.
June 2026
Every opening now has its aluminium panel, stored under the veranda and fitted in an hour. The season requires it, and it is invisible the rest of the year: the courbaril shutters stay in place in front of them.
May 2026
Three mango trees, one grafted that bears Julie mangoes into July. Help yourself: whatever is not picked during the week becomes jam at the caretaker’s. The soursops are right beside them, quieter about it.
April 2026
Two beds of chillies, bay-rum leaves, lemongrass and far too much mint. Enough to season a court-bouillon without leaving the house. The caretaker comes twice a week to water.
March 2026
Damoiseau is eight minutes from the villa. We arranged a morning visit, before the heat, with a tasting among the vats. Since then there is always a bottle of 55° white and what it takes to make coconut punch at the house.
February 2026
The drum and snare groups come down the main avenue of Le Moule every Sunday from January to March. On Shrove Tuesday the town does not sleep. It is the one week we suggest arriving the day before, not on the day itself.
